Straight pricing for residential and commercial pothole repair, plus the mobilization math contractors do not always explain.
Residential pricing
Cold patch: $100 to $250 per pothole. Temporary, lasts 6 to 12 months.
Hot mix repair: $200 to $400 per pothole. Lasts 3 to 5 years if base is intact.
Infrared repair: $250 to $800 per pothole. Best permanent fix because it bonds to surrounding asphalt.
Commercial pricing
$35 to $75 per square foot for cold patch on a parking lot
$75 to $150 per square foot for hot mix and infrared
Bundled repairs (5 or more potholes) drop unit pricing by 20 to 40 percent
Why mobilization dominates the bill
A crew, truck, and compactor cost the same to roll whether they fix one pothole or twelve. Most contractors charge a $200 to $500 minimum trip fee. If you have multiple potholes, fix them in one visit. If you only have one, ask whether the contractor is already in your area that week.
